DESCRIPTION:Memorial Day in Beacon is hosted by the five community veterans organizations at the Veterans Memorial building and is a solemn occasion. We recognize and honor those who\, in the words of Abraham Lincoln\, gave the last full measure of devotion to our nation. Memorial Day is certainly a day to be with family and friends\, to celebrate\, to anticipate\, and to mourn those who have served our community and nation. \nSCHEDULE: \n10:00 a.m. on E. Main Street Bridge: Public commemoration in recognition of the sacrifices made by the naval forces. \n  \n11:00 a.m. in front of Veteran’s Memorial Building (430 Main Street\, Beacon\, NY 12508):  The Public Commemoration will continue at the Memorial Building and will feature a reading of the Gettysburg Address and remarks by a Keynote Speaker. \n  \nThe full itinerary for the commemoration can be found here.
