[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The City Administrator is appointed by the Mayor subject to an affirmative vote of a majority of the Council members. The City Administrator serves at the pleasure of the Mayor and supervises the operations of all departments and units of the city government. The City Administrator shall prepare and submit to the Mayor an annual budget and a capital program. They shall see that all laws and provisions of the Charter and the Code and directions of the Council, subject to enforcement by him are faithfully executed.<\/span><\/p>\n

On July 6, 2026 Mr. Swanson was appointed, and unanimously approved, as the City of Beacon\u2019s 5th City Administrator. Prior to that time, he attended and graduated New York University School of Law, served as an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County, and was hired as Secretary to the Mayor for the City of Beacon before being promoted to Deputy City Administrator in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n
