About\u00a0the Conservation Advisory Committee<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The City of Beacon Conservation Advisory Committee (CAC) is charged with advising the Planning Board and the City Council on matters affecting the preservation, development and use of the natural and human-made features in the City. In June 2019, the CAC was appointed Beacon’s Climate Smart Task Force by the City Council. This task force is headed by the City of Beacon’s Climate Smart Coordinator, Faye Leone, who attends\u00a0CAC meetings as a representative of the City government.<\/p>\n

The Committee advises on major environmental threats and maintains an inventory of natural resources and an index of all open spaces.<\/p>\n

Meetings<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm and are open to the public in the City’s Recreation Center, located at 23 West Center Street.<\/p>\n

Membership<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Committee shall consist of nine members appointed for a two-year term. The CAC also runs specific working groups for various conservation-related activities. These groups are open to all residents, not only CAC members.<\/p>\n
