After School Program 2025-2026<\/span><\/h2>\n

Welcome to the Beacon Recreation After School Program, held in J.V Forrestal, Sargent, and South Ave. Elementary schools. This program offers more than just childcare; it provides exposure to a variety of activities, allowing your child to try something new or delve deeper into something they already enjoy. It is our goal to provide a safe and fun recreational experience to all participating children while providing an opportunity for enrichment.<\/p>\n

Each day, the children are dismissed from their classroom directly to the program, where they have about thirty minutes of free play and a snack. From about 4:00 to 4:50 is the first activity period, followed by a second fifty-minute activity period. Scheduled activities are complete around 5:45. Parents are welcome to pick their child up at any time prior to 6:00 pm.<\/p>\n

We host four sessions each year. Registration for each session occurs about two weeks prior to the end of the current session. There is no break in the program between sessions. We operate each day BCSD has a 3:00 dismissal. We do not hold program on school holidays or \u00bd days.<\/p>\n

In order to register for the Beacon Recreation After School program, you must have a MyRec household account set up. To set up an account, please visit beaconny.myrec.com<\/p>\n

Registration- 1-3 days per week<\/strong><\/span>
\nTo accommodate as many different children and families as possible, quarterly registrations will be available for all families using the program 1-3 days a week. If space is available, 5-day users can register as well.<\/p>\n

Registration- 5 days per week<\/span><\/strong>
\n\u2022 5 days a week, after-school program use is by lottery for all three locations.
\n\u2022 If your family is selected for a 5-day spot, it is yours for the full year. 5-day users will be required to make payment in full for programming quarterly.
\n\u2022 Anyone who does not get a spot in the lottery will be able to register through regular quarterly registrations if space is available.
\n\u2022 Lottery specifics can be found on the sign-up form.
\n\u2022 Lottery opens on Tuesday August 5th at 10 am.
\n\u2022 Deadline for entering the lottery is Tuesday August 19 at 10am.<\/p>\n
