{"id":6031,"date":"2019-07-29T15:08:08","date_gmt":"2019-07-29T15:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cityofbeacon.org\/?page_id=6031"},"modified":"2025-10-01T16:57:58","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T20:57:58","slug":"water-and-sewer","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/beaconny.gov\/index.php\/departments\/water-and-sewer\/","title":{"rendered":"Water and Sewer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\">[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]\n<h2>WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>The Water and Sewer Department provides City of Beacon\u00a0residents with safe, potable water for fire protection and use.<\/li>\n<li>The Department maintains the sources of water supply, which include reservoirs and wells.<\/li>\n<li>The Department also provides unabated collection and disposal of all sanitary sewage.<\/li>\n<li>Personnel perform periodic testing and monitoring of water quality and maintain the water distribution system, including piping and fire hydrants.<\/li>\n<li>Ongoing maintenance and analysis includes keeping the pipelines and manholes clean, conducting infiltration and inflow studies, and making alterations to ease the burden of high flows during heavy rain periods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]\n<h2>WATER BILLING<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Water bills for City of Beacon residents\u00a0are distributed quarterly during\u00a0January, April, July and October.<\/li>\n<li>Payments can be mailed to the City Clerk&#8217;s office, paid in person at City Hall or left in the drop box in front of City Hall after hours. City Hall is located at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/1+Municipal+Plaza,+Beacon,+NY+12508\/@41.5080215,-73.9806462,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89dd31799f3152e1:0x3bea3a75d5fe9462!8m2!3d41.5080215!4d-73.9784575\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 Municipal Plaza, Beacon, NY 12508<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Payments are accepted in person at City Hall Monday &#8211; Friday 8:00AM to 3:30PM. Please note no payments can be accepted after 3:30PM.<\/li>\n<li>Payments can also be made at M&amp;T Bank at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/search\/M%26T+Bank,+200+Main+Street,+Beacon,+NY\/@41.507649,-73.974068,13z\/data=!3m1!4b1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">200 Main Street, Beacon<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>During November, any past due water charges not included in the October bill will be re-levied to the tax bill with additional penalties and interest.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/beaconny.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Water-Sewer-Change-of-Address-Form.pdf\">Change of Address Form for Water\/Sewer Bills<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>READING YOUR BILL<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Water bills have several different &#8220;read codes&#8221; listed; &#8220;A&#8221; for an Actual Read or &#8220;E&#8221; for an Estimated Read. <strong>If your code reads &#8220;E,&#8221; contact the water Department to have your meter investigated.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Read Code is on the right side of the bill next to the usage. Please pay close attention to this.<\/li>\n<li>It is particularly important to check for any special message that might appear on the bottom of your bill.<\/li>\n<li>Should you receive an estimated bill, you must contact City Hall immediately at <a href=\"http:\/\/845-838-5004\"><strong>845-838-5004 <\/strong><\/a>to have your water meter inspected.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/beaconny.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Final-Read-Request_2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Final Water Bills can be requested using the\u00a0Final Water Bill Request Form<\/a>. This form should be submitted by the attorney handling the closing.
