Community Quarterly Overview<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The City Council of Beacon believes our city government is made stronger through an engaged and active public. While there are already several ways for those who live and work in Beacon to provide feedback, input and inspiration for City Council, we believe that Council has a pro-active role to play in making our government more accessible and participatory.<\/p>\n

To that end, we are hosting a series of Community Quarterlies to give a platform for Beaconites to share ideas with each other and vote through a set of priorities for City Council to address moving forward.<\/p>\n

Each CQ will center on a question articulated by Council and have three phases:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

– PART 1: Survey for Solutions – completed on April 26<\/p>\n

– PART 2: Public Forum – complete on April 20 VIDEO of the event on City’s Youtube Page here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

– PART 3: Community Vote – open now until May 23 @ 4PM via online or paper ballot<\/p>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n

Community Quarterly #1 CENTRAL QUESTION: What is a key aspect of Community and Public Safety that is missing or requires improvement and that the City should provide?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Council of the City of Beacon recognizes that multiple services and resources live under the umbrella of Community and Public Safety. These include the police as well as healthcare, food, housing, and recreational resources. Together, these areas of life encourage critical community connections, a sense of unity and belonging that are critical to our shared safety. In this first Community Quarterly, the Council seeks to hear from Beaconites about what Community Safety means to them specifically, and what the City can do to meet those needs and ensure we all feel safe and are able to thrive here.<\/p>\n

Guidelines<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1) Voting on priorities is open to any and all residents of Beacon<\/p>\n

2)Ballots must be completed and returned by Monday, May 23 @ 4PM<\/p>\n

OR in-person to Ben Swanson at Beacon City Hall | 1 Municipal Plaza<\/p>\n
