The goal of the City of Beacon Fire Department is to promote an environment that not only strives to meet the community’s needs, but also looks for opportunities to advance that service to the next level.
To enhance the Fire Department’s Fire Prevention program, Lieutenant Simmonds and Firefighter Sims recently became certified as a Fire & Life Safety Educators. This intensive course was designed to train Firefighters on how to properly educate the public on fire prevention and life safety education topics. Course topics included injury prevention, teaching techniques, audience characteristics, lesson plans, presentation and evaluation methods, life safety hazards as well as fire behavior and fire protection.
The City of Beacon Fire Department is looking forward to Fire Prevention week starting October 8th.
