CITY CLERK
The City Clerk is a full-time, managerial position based upon a Monday to Friday, forty (40) hour work week. The City Clerk serves as a critical position in the Administration who works directly with the Mayor, City Administrator, Department Heads, and the public. The position is appointed by the Mayor and not subject to a Civil Service exam.
The City Clerk performs a range of duties, including: maintain and file agreements, such as contracts, performance bonds, letters of credits, insurance certificates, vital records, and petitions; publish legal notices for auctions, bond ordinances, and public hearings conducted by City Council; manage and respond to FOIL requests; administer various permits and associated licensing fees; obtain and maintain signed oaths of office; and issue certified copies of vital records. The work is performed under the general direction of the Mayor and City Administrator and works closely with other department heads.

SENIOR WASTEWATER MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
Incumbent in this class has working knowledge of the common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions in the operation and maintenance of wastewater and processes; skill in the use of standard tools and equipment of the trade; ability to supervise the work of others; ability to read and understand plans or sketches; ability to follow oral and written directions; ability to withstand heavy labor for extended periods; personal characteristics necessary to perform the duties of the position; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Incumbent will perform routine manual duties in connection with the operation of motor equipment of up to moderate complexity. Specific directions are received from a superior, but Incumbent is responsible for the safe and economical operation of their equipment on assigned tasks. Incumbent should have the knowledge of the operation of trucks and other automotive equipment needed in order to operate the equipment safely and effectively; the ability to perform all duties in a safe and appropriate manner, in compliance with OSHA, DOL, DMV, and departmental regulations; the ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; the personal characteristics necessary to perform the duties of the position; and physical conditions commensurate with the demands of the position.

The City of Beacon is looking for Crossing Guards for the upcoming School year. Shifts are available in either the morning and/or afternoons during the school week. Paid training is provided upon hire. Knowledge of traffic laws at pedestrian crossings is a plus. Background check is required.

ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER (PART-TIME)
The City of Beacon seeks a well-qualified, dependable individual to serve as its part-time Animal Control Officer. Applicant must have availability during the day. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, six (6) months of full-time, paid or volunteer work experience caring for animals in a commercial, governmental or non-profit organization and possession of a valid New York State driver license are required. The position will work on an as-needed basis. The pay will be $20.00 per hour for each hour worked. Beacon residency is preferred. Water Department Summer Help
The City of Beacon is looking for two (2) persons to work this summer for the Water Department. The incumbents will perform a variety of manual labor tasks such as mowing, weed whacking, painting, cleaning, etc. using automotive equipment and operate City vehicles, under close supervision.
