Linda Richards, Director ~ Linda’s experiences as a public school teacher, Education and Music Director at Clearwater, camp director at Manitoga in Garrison and the Ashokan Summer Camp in Olivebridge, and wandering troubadour have given her the skills, humor and sensitivity to enjoy children in just about any setting. Raised by a family of teachers, and the oldest sibling (by a LOT), dinner table discussions were lively and instructional! Early childhood summers, and then later summers with her own family, were spent traveling across this beautiful country – camping, learning and experiencing the great outdoors. Linda wove her education and outdoor experiences together into a lifetime fabric of musical environmental education adventures. She is currently a voice, guitar & ukulele teacher, and directs a cappella choir at the MOVE studio in Cold Spring. She also performs throughout the Hudson Valley extensively through “S.L.Y.M.I. (Sing Like You Mean It!)”. Linda cherishes the camp experience and knows that summer camp can inspire the next generation of thoughtful leaders!
Jayden Featherstone, Assistant Camp Director ~ Jayden has had the privilege of being a part of Camp @ the Camp in some form or another since 2018, when he started as a CIT at age 12! Since then, he’s moved through the ranks of Junior Counselor, to Counselor, to now, Assistant Director! To him, Camp is a place of magic, togetherness, and beauty. It is the favorite part of his year, time and time again. He has worked with Beacon Rec’s afterschool program as an activity instructor and is currently working in environmental education with third graders. Jayden is absolutely ecstatic to be a part of the administrative staff at camp for the very first time!!! There are too many incredible things at camp to pick a favorite, but if he had to choose, it would probably be the music that is created, shared, and enjoyed by campers, staff, and all the critters.
Yahli Felixbrodt, Art Director ~ Yahli is an artist and child care specialist living in Beacon. They recently graduated from Hampshire College with a Bachelor’s of the Arts with a focus on Art Therapy, culminating their degree with a multimedia gallery exhibition. They have been working with kids for over five years, and have worked as a summer camp counselor at Manitou School and Camp @ the Camp. Yahli’s favorite thing in the world is bringing art into children’s lives and giving them the opportunity to explore their natural creativity! As a firm believer in art as an incredible tool for fostering connection, community, and processing the world around us, Yahli cannot wait to be the Art Director this year!!

Counselors & Staff ~ Our summer staff is a team of experienced and knowledgeable leaders, who we work closely with each summer to develop our session’s themes and to provide the best possible experience for campers and CITs.
Collaborations: Camp @ the Camp is a program of the City of Beacon Recreation Department, directed by Mark Price. We have strong relationships with other programs and organizations who support our camp with resources, special presentations, and guest educators.
