The Howland Public Library (313 Main Street) also acts as a cooling center for the City of Beacon. Hours of operation are as-follows:

• • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday and Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
