Notice is hereby given that the Tentative Assessment Roll for the City of Beacon for Assessment Year 2020 is completed, and a copy thereof has been filed and is available for viewing, in a publicly accessible location, at the Office of the City Clerk, Beacon City Hall, 1 Municipal Plaza, Beacon, New York 12508.
The Tentative Assessment Roll for the City of Beacon for Assessment Year 2020 may also be viewed online at www.cityofbeacon.org and www.dutchessny.gov.
Notice is hereby given that the City Assessor will be in attendance with 2020 Tentative Assessment Roll and available for consultation, by phone, on the following days and times:
May 8, 2020 (from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
May 15, 2020 (from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
May 21, 2020 (from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
May 22, 2020 (from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the City Assessor will be available during these dates and times for phone conferences by a pre-arranged appointment only. If you desire a phone conference with the City Assessor during these dates and times, contact the Office of the City Assessor at (845) 838-5025 and an appointment will be scheduled.
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Assessment Review for the City of Beacon will meet and to hear and examine all properly filed complaints in relation to the 2020 tentative assessments of real property on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Board of Assessment Review may, pursuant to Section 512 of the Real Property Tax Law, thereafter adjourn to a later date and time for the purpose of hearing complaints.
Due to public health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, the Board of Assessment Review will not be meeting in-person. In accordance with the Governor’s Executive Orders 202.1 and 202.22, the May 27, 2020 meeting and hearings will be held via videoconferencing, and a transcript will be provided at a later date. The public will have an opportunity to see and hear the meeting and hearings live.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, property owners are strongly encouraged to submit complaints grieving 2020 tentative assessments, and any supporting documentation, to the City Assessor, Beacon City Hall, 1 Municipal Plaza, Beacon, New York 12508, prior to May 27, 2020. Complaints received before May 27, 2020 may be assigned a designated time for hearing before the Board of Assessment Review during the above-stated times. Complainants will be contacted by the Office of the City Assessor before May 27, 2020 with an appointed hearing time and instructions for remote videoconferencing participation in such hearing.
