This state-of-the-art facility represents a major step forward in enhancing the city’s emergency response capabilities and improving public safety for Beacon’s residents and visitors.
The new firehouse will serve as the headquarters for the City of Beacon Fire Department. Features of the facility include hot, warm, and cold decontamination zones, advanced training spaces, improved apparatus bays, and living quarters designed to enhance the well-being and readiness of Beacon’s firefighters.
The new firehouse on Wolcott Avenue is designed with sustainable features that align with the City of Beacon’s environmental goals, incorporating energy-efficient systems and green building materials, including twenty-one geothermal wells. The facility’s layout also supports the all-hazards approach of modern fire departments, allowing firefighters to respond to medical emergencies, fires, rescues, and hazardous materials incidents with improved readiness and efficiency.
